Introduction- Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare most famous plays. In English class we have started the novel. But before we did that we watched the latest version of the play on video and we watched the first scene of an old version. In this essay I will be talking about the two movies and compare them and to talk about them.
Paragraph 1- In the old version the setting is in Verona, Italy. Were as in the latest version it is set on Verona Beach. The costumes in both help bring the story in there on way. In the old one the people are wearing tights, and funny looking hats and their clothes are very bright, eye-catching colours. In the new version people are style wearing bright colours but they are wearing more stylish clothes.
Paragraph 2- The moods in both versions are good but in the older one I think the people were more worried about making the movie seem like it was when it was being preformed by Shakespeare. But in the latest one the actors were acting with a lot more emotion and feelings.
Paragraph 3- The main story point behind both versions was kept. The pure hatred between the two families was kept. The Capulet s and The Montague s thirst for each other s family to die was so strong that it destroyed the love between Romeo and Juliet.
Conclusion- Romeo and Juliet is one of the worlds most famous plays and will never be forgotten. I enjoyed watching the movie of the latest version cause it was more youth like. It had cars instead of horses, guns instead of swords, and it had a lot more emotion. Plus in so strange way some people might even be able to relate to the situation.
