A Midsummer Night s Summary
During the play A midsummer s Night Dream. We are introduced to many characters with many different and unique characteristics. The main characters in the play are Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius. Hermia is the daughter of Egeus and the lover of Lysander. Lysander is the one who is madly in love with Hernia but her father says that he is not the one for her. Helena is in love with Demetrius and there is nothing anyone can do to change her feelings. As for Demetrius he is in love with Hermia and is the one who is chosen to merry Hermia by her father.
This play begins when Egeus brings Hermia to the Duke, but she is already in love with Lysander. Hermia s father is known of her love, and against the entire relationship between the two and he demands that the Duke judge Hermia and he tells her that if she doesn t marry Demetrius she will die unless she wants to live her entire life a virgin. After this, the two decide to elope into the forest and go to Lysander s aunt and live with her.
When they couple elopes there admirers Helena and Demetrius follow them. When Puck is sent out to give one Athean man a love potion. When Puck is sent out to do so he gave the potion to a sleeping unaware Lysander. When Lysander wakes up from his sleep he sees Helena his admirer and falls completely in love with her. Meanwhile Hermia is wondering what happened to her love. After the whole confusion Puck finds out what he had done wrong and fixes his mistake. Then all the couples marry one another and all live happily ever after. And all characters are married to each other. (Hermia and Lysander, Helena and Demetrius)
