What I noticed straight away from the

Mexican display at the museum was the size of its room. It was pretty small

compared to the rest of the museum so produced an enclosed atmosphere that put

the sculptures right in your line of sight. There were two open-air displays;

one was circular and the other was layered like stairs. On the circular block

of marble laid four statues where it was dominantly lit. This idea brought out

the shapes and edges on the figures. The four fertilized women

were placed on the stair like platforms highly raised and acted like gods

in the sky. Around the sides were enclosed glass cabinets, wall panels and an

oblong cabinet that sat of the back wall. In the oblong cabinet there were

individually lit turquoise objects in front of a black back ground, this added

to the whole creepy feel to the room. The objects around the room were brightly

illuminated and were more like a typical museum exhibition. The wall

panels were lit from their dark red background and like most the pieces in

exhibition created an unsettled atmosphere.
