Georgia O’Keeffe. Georgia O’Keeffe is one of today’s great artists. One thing about her is that she liked to keep to herself. She is not a real big people person, even though she seems to be a reallt kind and gentle person. Georgia loved to paint shapes and objects with a lot ofcolors. She would see shapis in her mind and then put them down on the canvas. Although O’Keeffe loved colors, she said, “It doesn’t matter if the color is right, if it feels right then the painting is done.” +She found out early that she wasn’t capable of painting other peoples style. So she developed her own way, the way that she likedto paint her pictures. Georgia is very interested in the landscape, especially the landscape of Texas. She would pick out certain shapes and objects that she found very interesting. Then she would paint it as she saw it. The painting may not have turned out how it actually looked, but this was how it looked to her. O’Keeffe moved to New York in 1918. She married a man named Stieglitz. Stieglitz loved to photograph O’Keeffe. He would sit there and take pictures of her for hours on end. The couple had very different personalities, but they were really interested in each others work. This is why they were together for thirty three years. Stieglitz died at age eighty two, so Georgia moved back to Texas. Georgia O’Keeffe has completed many works of art in her days of painting. You can see some of her work in art galleries, on calendars, and many other places. I think that this film was rather entertaining and educational.
