“Why do you want to go to a school that is so far away from home?” Megan asked her best friend Crystal.

“Because Megan,” Crystal began, “I need a new atmosphere. Living in the same town my entire life has gotten boring, and I think that I just need a change of scenery. I honestly do not exactly like living here.

“Well that I can understand, but do you really have to go all the way across the country just for a change of scenery? You’re going from Pennsylvania to California. You could just go to school in the city or New Jersey even.

“I know, but for right now, I just need to get away. I know it’s hard to understand, but I know what I need. I think that this will be good for me. If you’re thinking that we’re not going to see each other at all, you’re wrong. We’ll see each other every two months.” Crystal said.

“You’re right, but it’s still not the same. I am going to miss you so much, and you and I have never been away from each other for longer than three days at a time. What if you meet another best friend? You’ll forget all about me.” Megan exclaimed sadly.

“Megan, how could you think that I could ever forget about you? We’ve been best friends for our entire lives, and no one could ever replace you. Don’t you know that by know?” Crystal asked.

“Yes I know, but I still think about it sometimes. Just please promise me that we will talk on the phone everyday and we’ll write letters all of the time.”

“I promise, but you do know that long distance calls are expensive so it’s not going to be everyday, but we will talk a lot, o.k.?”

“Ok, but I’ll write and e-mail you every day!” Megan said.
