First Taste of Liquid Courage

My first experiences with alcohol were encountered relatively early. When I say early, I do not mean that I was getting drunk when I was only eight or ten years old. What I mean by this is that whenever my parents were having a drink, they would occasionally let me have a sip of it. This encounter was pretty rare, because my parents hardly ever drink. The most common time that something like this would happen, is when my dad would be grilling out and having a beer. He would let me have a taste of it in amounts that would not affect my body.

My first time getting ripped did not come for me until I was about fourteen years old. I was at my cousin?s house, and his parents were having a party. At first, my cousin, his friend, and myself were just being normal kids. We were eating, and having fun. After a while, after all of the adults started getting a little bit loud and tipsy, we decided that we wanted to try out what they were doing. We started to pour liquor drinks and then downed them. It naturally did not take very much, and pretty soon we were acting a little dumb ourselves. We drank Jim Beam and Coke. We were not toasted or anything, but we could surely feel it. After a little while, we got tired and went inside. We all had slight headaches in the morning, but nothing that was too severe. Since we were not sick or anything, we all thought that it was pretty cool.

After our first times of doing this, we naturally wanted to do it again. We thought that a hangover was nothing but a myth. Boy, did we find out quickly that getting sick and having a hangover was pretty easy to do. After a few months of doing this, we found out how much we could drink until we would got sick.
