The issue of church and state has become more important in the 20th century. There are many reasons for this, because in this century people are becoming more outspoken then in earlier centuries. People are now willing to stand up for their beliefs and views, as in the past people weren?t brave enough to stand up and speak up on how they felt.

Now people are trying to separate church and state more than the ever. Money for instance, has become a larger issue. The reason for this is because on our money it says, ?In God We Trust?, but if we?re trying to separate church and state we are contradicting ourselves. There are so many types of religious beliefs, and there is only one type of currency used in our country.

Court has also become a largely discussed issue. Many types of nationalities visit the Courthouse daily. In court people are asked to swear on the bible. How are people asked to swear on a bible if some do not believe in it? This question is asked frequently among those of different beliefs. There are so many types of religious beliefs and various religious prayer houses. Even though, when you enter a courthouse only one religious tradition is exercised.

Women?s rights have improved considerably in the last century. Women have moved forward in the area of politics, the work force, church and state. Females in today?s society can now exercise their freedom of speech, also the right to vote, and to participate in choosing their own religion. As of today, women have received the recognition to participate on an equal level in the political arena.

In conclusion, church and state have grudgingly accepted the many views of the people.
