Niccol Machiavelli was born on May 3, 1469 and died on June 21, 1527 in Florence, Italy. He was an Italian historian, statesman, and a political philosopher. He was an upright man, a good citizen, a good father, and a loving patriot. He had five children with his wife, Marietta Corsini. He was basically a well-rounded man. Machiavelli was one of the most important figures in the Renaissance because of his role and his job, his accomplishments that made him significant, and how he changed our lives today in 21st century.

Niccol Machiavelli started out working for the government as a clerk. When the Floretine Republic was proclaimed in 1498, Machiavelli started to become known. He then became the secretary of the ten-man council. His job required duties of which he had to carry out such as the missions to the French King, the Holy See, and the German Emperor. In the course of his missions, he had a chance to meet Italian rulers and so he had an opportunity to study their political tactics. When the republic dissolved and the Medici family regained power in Florence in 1512, Machiavelli s job was taken away from him and was imprisoned temporarily for presumed conspiracy against the Medici family. When he was released, he retired and started working on his writings that are now famous today.
