1) Simon prevents a gang from killing him by persuading them to let him go.

2) I don’t think that most people would have done what Simon did. What he did took a lot of courage and I don’t think that most people are willing to put their life at risk for a stranger.

3) Simon learns that man is very small and doesn’t make that much of a difference in the world. He learns that the river is always digging the canyon and has been carving out the gorge for longer than he has been around.

4) Claire discovers a small child that is abandoned in the woods. She wants to keep the child and raise it as her own.

7) Simon sets him up with a date, and also helps set up his sister with a new apartment in a safer neighborhood.

8) The woman in the Pirates hat who saved Mack was an angel. Simon acted as an angel when he saved Mack, and when the movie director witnesses the sunrise and has a change of heart.

9) I think that Claire is the most aware of miracles in life. She sees things the way that they are and is in tune with reality.

10) When Mack helped Simon’s sister out and set him up with a date, because he doesn’t know why he does these things.

11) The friendship between Mack and Simon is an example of a horizon experience. In their friendship there is an element of trust and union. Through their friendship they both experience god.

12) I experienced God in the beauty of nature that I witnessed on the shores of Lake Michigan and the dunes around it.
